Allah the Exalted said:
وَلْيَعْفُوا وَلْيَصْفَحُوا ۗ أَلَا تُحِبُّونَ أَن يَغْفِرَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ ۗ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَّحِيمٌ
Let them pardon and overlook. Would you not love for Allah to forgive you? Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
Surat An-Nur 24:22
And Allah said:
خُذِ الْعَفْوَ وَأْمُرْ بِالْعُرْفِ وَأَعْرِضْ عَنِ الْجَاهِلِينَ
Show forgiveness, enjoin what is good, and turn away from the ignorant.
Surat Al-A’raf 7:199
And Allah said:
وَإِنَّ السَّاعَةَ لَآتِيَةٌ ۖ فَاصْفَحِ الصَّفْحَ الْجَمِيلَ
Verily, the Hour is coming, so forgive them with gracious forgiveness.
And Allah said:
The believers are those who spend in charity during ease and hardship and who restrain their anger and pardon the people, for Allah loves the doers of good.
Surat Ali Imran 3:134
We always ask Allah for forgiveness for what we may have done wrong knowingly or unknowingly.
Links for donating water to communities:
‘The best Sadaqah is giving water (to drink).’
‘He who digs a water source, then for every living creature that drinks from it – be it jinn, man or a bird – Allah Most high will reward him on the day of Resurrection.’
Building a water well is a means of providing fresh water to villages for many years. Over the last two decades, Rahma (Mercy) has built more than 150 water wells across Kosovo and Albania.
Our field team works hard to ensure they pick the best area whereby there will be as many people as possible drinking safe and clean water.
Each water well you donate can be a means of continuous reward (Sadaqah Jaariyah) or in memory of a deceased family member.
Abdullah ibn Amr reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, passed by Sa’d while he was performing ablution. The Prophet said, “What is this extravagance?” Sa’d said, “Is there extravagance with water in ablution?” The Prophet said, “Yes, even if you were on the banks of a flowing river.”

Allah has instructed us not to be wasteful in the following verse: “O Children of Adam! Eat and drink but waste not by excess, for God loveth not the wasters” ( Surah al Araaf, The Heights 7:31 )
As muslims we know that water is very important and that we should not waste it. Some ways we can do this is by
Turning off any taps or water sources that aren’t being used, like when brushing teeth, don’t leave the tap running.
Don’t have long showers as each minute uses around 17 litres of water
Harvest rainwater to water plants as that is better for the plants and can save around 5000 litres of water.
Don’t flush rubbish like wipes or razors down the toilet because it can cause blockages. Instead throw rubbish in the bin.
Fill the dishwasher and washing machine with a full load before use. Also, fill the kettle with the exact about if water needed – don’t fill the whole kettle for just one cup of tea.

Tips on saving water :
Here in the U.K. we are very blessed to have clean and fresh water just at the touch of a tap. Many communities around the world have to walk miles to fetch water. I’m sure if we had to carry our daily water for two or more miles, we would appreciate its value and use it sparingly!
Here’s an interesting sunnah –
Sayyiduna Safinah (May Allah be pleased with him) has narrated that the Prophet (SAW) performed ablution with a mudd of water, and the purifying bath with a sa’ of water. (Tirmidhi)
So what’s a mudd? Well, litres and gallons are units of measurement to measure volume. In the same way the mudd and sa’a were units of measure used in the time of our Prophet SAW.
the Messenger of Allah (SAW) used a mudd full of water which in modern day measurements equates to 775ml. That’s less than a litre. Fill a litre bottle and take a look at how much water that is – you might be surprised to find that it’s not as much as you imagine!
We should also try and make a habit of using a mudd for making wudhu. Not only will we receive reward for practicing upon a Sunnah, but we will also be saving water by reducing the amount we use from a running tap.
Here’s a beautiful video demonstration of wudhu the way the Prophet SAW did it.
